Using Multiple Credit Cards at Aryty.com

by Clarissa

This week we added a new feature that allows you to have more than one credit card registered at Aryty. You can designate a primary card on your account which will be charged each time you send a scheduled load or load via SMS and you will have the option of selecting which card you would like to have charged whenever you send via web. You can change your primary card with just a click and always pay for load using the card that’s best for you. Just one way to make sending load to the Philippines even more convenient!

Google officially announced their acquisition of GrandCentral. GC allows you to have one phone number for life that will reach you at any of your other phone numbers. Some of the cool features they offer include screening calls, listening in on voice mails in progress, customized greetings and unlimited control of your messages.

The impressive thing GrandCentral did was to take a simple concept and execute exceptionally well on it. Their usability and design is fantastic and their features are very easy to use. Even Googlely!

Craig and Vincent, the founders of GrandCentral are awesome guys and I congratulate them and their whole team on a job well done! Google is fortunate to have them on board.

Still get your GrandCentral free!

Text Messaging to the Philippines

by Clarissa

One of the best ways to keep in touch with loved ones in the Philippines is by sending them a text. Although most carriers in the U.S. and Canada will allow you to send international text messages it can be expensive option for you and your loved one.

Many Filipinos in the states use a Globe, Smart or Sun Cellular roaming phone from the Philippines as an easy way to stay connected. When you use a Philippine roaming phone your relative abroad is only charged local text rates when they send or reply to all messages via your local Philippine mobile number. It does cost a bit more however to send text with the Philippine phone since you will be roaming if you are using it outside the Philippines.

Another option is to link your U.S. phone to a Yahoo messenger account and send text through the messenger. Your cost is the same as local text and your loved ones pay a low rate when they reply. Yahoo connects to all mobile carriers in the Philippines so you can communicate with any phone. If you like the messenger option you may also want to try downloading the Chikka messenger which allows you to send sms messages from the web to Philippine mobile phones.

Whatever you decide is the best way to text to the Philippines just make sure to keep your loved one loaded with Aryty so they will have enough load to text message you back!
