Nike X Manny Pacquiao Air Trainer 1

by Clarissa

May 2nd, the highly anticipated Manny Pacquiao Nike Air Trainer 1 will be released at a few select stores on the West Coast.

So far we know there are only 200 pairs made, 100 of which will go to Manny to pass around to friends and family. The rest will hit about 4 stores including Niketown in Vegas & SF and also Fatlace and Undefeated in LA possibly.

Today I stopped by Niketown in SF and they told me 50 pairs will go to the Vegas Niketown since the fight is in Vegas which leaves only 50 pairs to go around to the other spots. This drop could be as hot as the Pidgeons were a few years back! If there’s only 15 pairs at the other stores you better get your lawn chairs ready because I bet the lines will start as early as Tuesday night.

Manny Pacquiao throws the first pitch at SF Giants Filipino Heritage Night

by Clarissa

Bay area Filipinos came from near and far to attend the San Francisco Giants’ Filipino Heritage night and to see our boxing idol, Manny Pacquiao throw the ceremonial first pitch of the game against San Diego.

Ang saya-saya!  It was great to see so many Filipinos wearing San Francisco Giants jerseys, showing their full support for the local baseball team.  The night was extra special for all who attended, whether or not they came from Filipino ancestry.  The best things about Filipino culture were presented in a venue  where everybody could enjoy the warm weather and festive atmosphere of game day.

The event was well organized.  Manny Pacquiao was scheduled to throw the first pitch at exactly 7:05 pm.  Before that, the fans were treated to a wonderful cultural show by the excellent Likha Dancers in beautiful, bright traditional Filipino tribal costumes.

Our hearts  swelled with pride for the Philippines even more as the Filipino veterans, who fought alongside American soldiers during World War II, were honored.   We owe these brave (retired) soldiers a huge debt, because the sacrifices they made many years ago allow us the freedom all Filipinos and Americans enjoy today.

The ‘Pacman’ was looking sharp in his white shirt, vest, and cap.  The crowed cheered loudly as the announcer gave an introduction fit for the Filipino boxing icon who’s earned his title as the best pound for pound boxer in the world.

Some lucky fans got their hands on the Manny Pacquiao bobble head doll,  the latest and hottest in Pacman memorabilia.

Pacquaio-Hatton Ilang tulog na lang!

by Clarissa

We are all so excited for the upcoming fight of Manny ‘the Pacman’ Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton on May 2 in Vegas. Everybody enjoyed watching our prized Pinoy fighter show Oscar dela Hoya how it’s done on HBO.     Who knows what surprises Manny has for his kababayans this time around.  Ilan rounds kaya bago ipakita ni Manny kay Hatton kung sino talaga ang tunay na boss!

Para sa laban, make sure you get your friends together, magluto ng Adobo, sit around the couch and prepare to be blown away as Manny delivers his signature lightning fast punches to his opponent.   Sino ang taya na mag o-order sa HBO ng pay-per-view this time?  O kaya, lahat mag chip-in sa bayad, sulit na sulit naman kapag nanalo ang ating manok!
