Last weekend Jake Cuenca made a personal appearance in the Aryty booth for autographs and a photo opp with adoring fans at Fiesta Filipina. The weather in San Francisco was amazing that day and fans started gathering more than 1 hour prior to his arrival to get their place in line to meet Jake. We have posted all photos online from the meet and greet and have a few pictures below of Jake for you to enjoy.

Last weekend all of us from Aryty had a great time attending the Fiesta Filipina 2008 in San Francisco. Perfect weather, good food and seeing Charice perform was amazing! The Aryty Karaoke Smart car with guest host Jaja from TFC’S new show Adobo Nation was also a hit.
Sunday, Aryty hosted a special guest appearance in the Aryty booth with Jake Cuenca who stopped by for a meet and greet with our guests in addition to plenty of promos, gift bags and Globe, Smart and Sun Cellular load for all. The weekend went by so fast it’s hard to believe it’s over.

These are just a few of the pictures we took of Charice performing at the Fiesta Filipina last weekend. Her performance was absolutely amazing and the coolest part was being able to meet her afterwards! You can check out more photos of Charice on our Flickr account so you can download a picture of Charice for yourself.
We also posted new videos of Charice’s performance you can watch. Make sure you don’t miss these great videos of this young diva! We can’t wait to see her again next month at the U.S. Philippines Expo in LA!
Charice Pempengco brought the house down at Fiesta Filipina in San Francisco, June 8th signing favorites like I will always love you. This junior diva and global superstar wowed everyone by performing more than 3 songs Sunday at the Fiesta Filipina and followed her performance with a meet and greet at TFC.
Charice is not only blessed with an incomparable voice but also has the stage presence and charisma to impress even the toughest crowds. She is truly an amazing talent and we were thrilled to have the chance to see her perform live in San Francisco at the Fiesta Filipina 2008.
We did manage to catch some of her songs on tape and will make sure to post them so you can see video of Charice Pempengco sing.
We are excited to let you know that Jake Cuenca will be holding a meet and greet in Aryty’s booth on Sunday, June 8th at the Fiesta Filipina San Francisco!
This prince of action, most recently followed on Palos will be taking part in the Fiesta Filipina and we are fortunate to have him join us Sunday. Jake is on a fast track to be a leading man of the silver screen in the Philippines and is already one of the country’s most bankable actors fresh off the cover of Men’s Health Magazine.
Come to Fiesta Filipina in San Francisco this Sunday and get a photo with Jake and an autograph in the Aryty booth at 1pm.
Time for the Fiesta Filipina again in San Francisco at the Civic Center Plaza this weekend the 7th and 8th of June. Aryty will be giving out free Globe load, free Smart load and free Sun load in addition to introducing the Aryty Smart Car! If you come out please drop by our booth for a promo, get a free load and sing along with us in the Aryty Smart!
There will be amazing performances with a headliner appearance from Charice Pempengco who just flew in from the New York Philippine Independence Day Parade held last weekend. Other performers include Jake Cuenca, Randy Santiago and Rachel Alejandro.

Speculation has come to an end as Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo became officially engaged last week while vacationing in Visayan! This celebrated couple of the silver screen has delighted audiences with blockbuster hits like Sakal Sakali Saklolo and will now keep adoring fans wondering when they will exchange vows as the date has not been set. Their chemistry off screen is clearly what makes them so beloved on screen as well!
Talk of the Town, Judai and Ryan
I was fortunate to have met this endearing couple once at the Alex Theater and was impressed by their star power and gracious nature. A true celebrity couple talaga! We wish Judai and Ryan all the best on their engagement and pray their relationship will last forever!

Jan reviewing her photos with Nancy
As a Ph.D student researching Filipino consumer cultures for my dissertation, I found that working with Aryty at the Pinoy Musik
Festival was both energizing and informative. Although I helped the Aryty team give away promos like free load and Globe SIM cards, and prepare for signings by Fil-Am star Sam Milby, I also kept my eyes and ears open for ways to answer some of the questions that organize my research.
For example, through Aryty, I am learning how a company markets to Filipinos. What strikes me about Aryty is the way “transnational” Filipinos have become an important part of their market. By “transnational,” I mean that people have ties to more than one nation. For example, many Filipinos that I know work and live in the United States, but send money “home” so that a niece or nephew can go to school or a brother or sister can build a house. These are all transnational ties, since it means that Filipinos in one location are involved in the lives (and drama rin, di ba?) of family and friends in the Philippines.
It seems to me that the desire to keep these ties together helps foster new systems – and cultures - of communication, which is why the business of selling long-distance airtime is so huge, and why roaming SIM cards are becoming more popular. But, I’ve also got to ask: how did all this happen in the first place? How did the telecommunications industry get to be such a powerhouse in the Philippines and how are American companies getting linked into it ? Who have been the leaders in the industry, and what makes their business so successful? What laws, market forces, and technological changes made growth in Philippine telecom possible? I think these are important questions to ask because I believe such changes have an impact on culture, which in turn affects what business leaders do. Aryty.com, for example, was launched in response to Philippine texting culture, which emerged because of changes in the Philippine telecom industry. So, how do market forces and culture work together in the twenty-first century?
Yes, believe it or not, these were some the thoughts running through my brain this weekend, even as I was blowing up Aryty balloons and taking pictures of Sam Milby’s and MYMP’s adoring fans.
We finally got all of the pictures of Sam Milby online today from the Pinoy Musik Festival. Many fans got a chance to meet & greet Sam in the Aryty booth on Sunday and get photo opp as well! Those photos are all posted online in our Flickr account (www.flickr.com/aryty) waiting for you to grab and post them on your Friendster!

It was a privelege and an honor to have Sam spend time with our team and guests in the Aryty booth and we can’t wait to see him again! But hey Sam, next time how about leaving a few of the ladies for the rest of us diba! :p
Kris Lawrence participated last weekend at the Pinoy Musik Festival performing a handful of soulful hits from top artist like Chris Brown and Usher. Kris not only has the voice but the dance moves to go with it! It was obvious by the crowds reaction that he is on the way to being a Pinoy favorite.
Kris’s talent should take him far and I look forward to seeing lots more him in the future. When you watch him perform you can’t help being in the mood to get out of your chair and dance! Be on the watch for this rising star from the Philippines.
